What is EWA-Norway?
EWA-Norway is a commitment of solidarity. Nobody profits from it. Hopefully, some almost-vanishing arts forms will be preserved and some children, young ones and village artists and musicians will get the courage to go on. They will feel empowered.
Deep connections between people, in our three countries (so far!), are being strengthened. There is, no doubt, a deep feeling of being together, of sharing pains, joys – and the learning of new skills, of seeing new creative possibilities.
EWA-Norway works with modest means. We have to collect funds to pay our teachers and co-workers in India and Bangladesh decently. People need to eat, to travel, to use phones, to buy new phones (rarely though it is), some young people sometimes need some extra support. New instruments are needed, repairing old ones must be done. Paper to paint on is needed. Some things break and must be repaired. Living cost are sky-rocketing due to covid-19.
